Business.
Just the sound of the word kinda get’s to me.
It feels like it’s somewhere elderly old barons in suits belongs.
Not me.
I would though, if business was something more than business.
If marketing was something more than using spreading noisy messages to potential clients.
If employees was something companies embraced.
If businesses could change from one day to another.
They can’t - because they are businesses.
if you look inside an organisation - how many people do you think are actually working to embrace new ideas - to make their clients happy, to create products that are worth buying ?…
And how many people sit around and actually lives their life being core of the business and the controling factor of the employees ? For business to change we need to create a business environment that is suited for changes. For every person within the company to take a ball and run with it…
Now please help me out and go and vote for it so I can get to write the manifesto…

Punk rock changed the game. Punk rock said ” you have all your talents, but you don’t need to use them the “old ways” to actually achieve what you want in your life”.
all that mattered in Punk Rock was that you had something to say, it didn’t really matter if you played your instrument in the best way possible, as long as you had the courage to speak your ways of the world.
There are huge similarities between punk rock and the web. One of them is that because the entry of creativity was lowered massively with the punk rock outburst in the 70s… The entry of creativity is very low right now because of the web. because of the long tail (Chris Anderson also covers this subject in his “the long tail”.)

Most importantly the web has democratized the tools of creativity, - no wait it has made them completely free!… No matter what content you would like to put out there, what ideas you have, you can spur them of in a minute. So there are HUGE resemblances between Punk Rock and the web. Maybe it has spurred from the same rebellion against the “right thing” - or “normality”..?

so I am fresh out of reboot10 - which was an inspiring blast of vision.

one of the things that was a major inspiration to me was Peter Rukavina’s session on “working for free”. It moved me deeply to see how involved Peter was in his local community and how he liked to do stuff for free - for a greater cause of his own (fx. deciding to do the mailinglist of the local coffee shop to attract more customers, so it won’t close down and he could have his favorite coffee everyday).
It makes sense to me because Peter are doing these initiatives to make himself happy. Really this is a wonderful thing actually springing from a selfish wish to maintain the status quo - or changing it for the better of his local community.
This presentation showed me how proactive you could be about your surroundings, and how much action and passion you can put into the things you would like to see prosper.
I will see what I can fix out here in Hvissinge - when things comes up I will let you know.
While I was in the session I had an idea of a “working for free” wiki, working to encourage these things.. I don’t know how it would work in practice though.. it just stroked me as a great idea =)

Today is a big day for our network startup IRL - offline stuff for online people.
It’s a network we made so Laura and I could act out our social entrepreneurship within a framework - and open up the danish web scene for more people.
But TODAY we are having our first workshop - starring the one and only Pedro Custodio who was in Copenhagen anyway for the reboot conference.
The workshop is about Community building and it is a more advanced form of workshop…
I have huge secret ambitions with IRL and I think it has a lot of potential to actually create a network of professional web enthusiasts…. It has been a good start even though we possibly hitted it off to ambitiously. So the workshop today is free =) and we’re about 15 people who will be playing with communities togethere with Pedro…, there’s still room for 2 -3 persons more if you’re interested…
I think it’s gonna rock=)
